People who live in a small apartment sometimes are asking "can a chest freezer be kept outside?", today I want to share with you the answer of this question so that you can get a better understanding about this certain issue because I believe that not all of us have the luxury of having enough space in a place we're living in.

So can a chest freezer be kept outside?

If you live in an apartment or in a house without any garage then you probably can think of putting the chest freezer inside the storage closet or balcony or if you're live in a small house without a garage then maybe you could put the chest freezer in your basement OR you can always get a smaller chest freezer.

I had a friend who lived in the mountains but she managed to put the chest freezer outside her house and she told me that it was okay, even though once she had a bear stole the meat but the chest freezer still working fine but you need to cover it with some sheet or blanket just to avoid any smell coming out of the chest freezer.

I think the main concern of keeping chest freezer outside is when the weather gets very cold. But a lot of people have had their chest freezers kept outside like in their backyard, porch and there's no problem at all but you also need to know just how cold the weather in your area could get, if it gets too cold then you would need to buy a case heater or a fan control because the compressor sometimes will get very hard to start when it gets too cold.
