How to clean a chest freezer the right way

Today I want to teach you how to clean a chest freezer because by doing a simple cleaning routine work you could make your chest freezer to have an optimal performance again and also avoid any damages and save hundreds of Dollars buying a new one.

How to clean a chest freezer properly?


The first thing you need to do is unplug the chest freezer from the wall and start to unload all the foods inside and you can put them inside a cooler for a while. The best time to clean your chest freezer is when the temperature outside is not too hot or cold.

Now boil a bucket of hot water and pour it inside the chest freezer and then just shut the lit so the frosted ice will be melted away and you should see the water dripping down from the below. You might want to do this process several times until all the ice are gone.

Take a mop and start mopping the inside of your chest freezer until all the ice leftover and all the water is gone. Now it’s time to clean the outside of the chest by using a bucket of soapy water and mop the entire side of your freezer, after that you could a vinegar with water to neutralize any odor from the soap.

Now don’t forget to clean the back of the freezer, try to move it away from the wall so that you could easliy clean its back.

So that’s how to clean a chest freezer, it’s pretty simple right? All you need to have is a cooler to store the foods temporarly, a soap, mop and a bucket of hot water.
